Remember to perform thorough tick checks following your outdoor hikes; in the event that you do pull off a tick, you may wish to send it to the Tick Research Lab of Pennsylvania for testing for tick borne illnesses, such as Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Order your test online and learn whether you’re at risk before symptoms appear. Testing is free for Pennsylvania residents.

6/2/2025— Update for the hike at Middle Creek Wildlife Area:

Follow sign for conservation trail uphill and away from the visitors center. Instead of making a left at the T, turn right and follow the trail uphill by the field. Continue straight at the top of the hill and follow the signs for conservation trail. This will put you on the same trail where you will find the post.

Please check the Directions page for updated directions.
