Season’s Readings: Winter Reading Program

Season’s Readings is the library’s brand new winter reading program launching in December 2017!  During the winter months, the library runs a winter reading program for children, teens, and adults!  Pick up a game sheet for your age group at the library, complete the activities as instructed, and remember to hand it in at the library by the deadline to be entered for a chance to win one of three prizes.  It’s that easy!  Please see the appropriate age group winter reading program details below for complete guidelines specific to your age group.

This year’s prizes: Subway gift card; Walmart gift card; and Swatara Coffee Co. Prize Pack (includes a Swatara Coffee Co. stainless steel water bottle and Swatara Coffee Company gift card; generously donated by Swatara Coffee Company).

Season’s Readings: Kids’ Edition is for children ages pre-school to 12 years old.  Pick up a game board activity sheet any time between December 12 and February 20.  Color in each game board space when you read for 30 minutes or complete an activity!  You can read anything–books, magazines, newspapers, or eBooks– to complete your reading spaces.  You can start the game at any time on or after the start date; however, we ask that only reading completed after the start date be counted for the game.  When you have completed the game board, fill out and detach the prize drawing entry form, and hand it in at the circulation desk at the library.  You may complete up to 2 game boards for up to 2 entries into the prize drawings.  Most importantly: have fun!  No registration required.

Season’s Readings is for teens (ages 13+) and adults (ages 18+).  Pick up a tic-tac-toe board activity sheet any time between December 12 and February 20.   No registration required.

  1. Complete activities from 3 squares in one line (up-and-down, side-to-side, or diagonally) to get tic-tac-toe. No duplicate titles please.
  2. Fill in the required information for each completed square.
  3. Turn in your card(s) at the circulation desk by 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 20. Winners will be notified that week!
  4. Read and repeat (up to 3 entries/person).

Can I start the program after the official start date?  Yes!

Can I count reading I did before the official start date? We ask that you count reading you did after the official start date.

Can I complete more than one tic-tac-toe card? Yes; you may complete up to 3 for 3 entries into the prize drawing.

Do eBooks and audiobooks count? Yes, they sure do!
