Winter Reading Program
The library’s winter reading program returns in December 2020! During the winter months, the library runs a winter reading program for children, teens, and adults! Pick up a game sheet for your age group at the library or download one from our website, complete the activities as instructed, and remember to hand it in at the library or via the online form by the deadline to be entered for a chance to win one of two prizes in your age group’s prize drawing. It’s that easy! Please see the appropriate age group winter reading program details below for complete guidelines specific to your age group. Game sheets will be available beginning Tuesday, December 8, 2020; the deadline to enter the prize drawings is Tuesday, February 2, 2021.
This year’s prizes for Kids’ Edition are a Swatara Coffee Co. gift card or a Winter Fun Activity Prize Pack. Prizes for the teens’ and adults’ age groups are an Amazon gift card or a Swatara Coffee Co. gift card.
Season’s Readings: Kids’ Edition is for children ages pre-school to 12 years old. Pick up a game activity sheet any time between December 8 and February 2. Read for at least 20 minutes each week during Season’s Readings—track your reading time on your game sheet. You can read anything—books, magazines, newspapers, or eBooks! The game sheet also includes fun activities to complete and track on the sheet. You can start at any time on or after the start date; however, we ask that only reading completed on or after the start date be counted. When you have completed the game sheet, fill out and detach the prize drawing entry form and hand it in at the circulation desk at the library or via the online form by February 2 to be eligible for the prize drawings. Read more than the minimum requirements to receive up to three entries in the prize drawings! Most importantly: have fun! No registration required.
Season’s Readings: Tic-Tac-Toe is for teens (ages 13+) and adults (ages 18+). Pick up or download a tic-tac-toe game sheet any time between December 8 and February 2. No registration required.
- Complete activities from 3 squares in one line (up-and-down, side-to-side, or diagonally) to get tic-tac-toe. No duplicate titles please.
- Fill in the required information for each completed square.
- Turn in your card(s) at the circulation desk or via online form by Tuesday, February 2. Winners will be notified that week!
- Read and repeat!
